But if you're just there for a black eye and bruised knuckles can you PLEASE keep it to a back corner or something?

Let loose & have fun in your own crazy way, hell yeah, but a show should be about the MUSIC, not you.

I love moshing! I love banging heads and bumping shoulders as the crowd's energy swells with the most frantic parts of the music. But there is 100% a (ever increasing) contingent of ppl who are solely there for the violence, and that has been spurred on by the acceptance of hardcore dancing, imo.

And like, I kinda get it, I love how the music makes me feel, and I'm ALL FOR letting that feeling express itself outwardly and am not one to judge looking silly! But my god if you NEED the violence aspect, start a fuckin mosh pit or something, don't act like you own the 30 feet in front of the band

Some of us are actually here to enjoy the music and performance, not just use loud noises as an excuse to let out your rage out and "accidentally" sucker punch/kick the people near you.

The massive gaps in the crowd turn it into a "look at me" spectacle and distracts from the bands.

I'm sorry, but I still find Hardcore Dancing to be the dumbest thing.

Like, all the arguments for it massively downplay how selfish it all is.

You want a space that could comfortably fit ~10 people all to yourself in an already tiny venue just so can be violent to others ON "ACCIDENT" ಠ_ಠ
