I think today you learned that “socialist” is a rhetorical term divorced from any meaning with regard to an economic system.

I have this crazy idea for an economic system whereby we pool our resources to save time and money on things that we can’t deal with as individuals while simultaneously working hard to generate additional resources for other things that we want. Can’t believe no one has thought of it before.

Saying that this “challenges scientific orthodoxy” is like saying jumping off a cliff because you don’t believe in gravity challenged scientific orthodoxy. Technically true but really seams to bury the lede of how stupid it is.

This idea that we are either 100% capitalist or 100% socialist and can’t meld them to get the best of both and avoid the worst of each is silly.
