..but I want basic income so that there isn’t a perpetual state of need they’re forced to navigate

They deserve the fairness of and autonomy of income security.
they deserve to not always be in need.

Or if you are chasing material needs without cash involved, you’re spending tons of labor tracking, connecting, sourcing, and coordinating a material that if you had money you could almost instantly buy.

There’s many in need struggling to build security for the future, but burn through it too fast to survive through the present based on how incremental mutual aid and charity can be.

Because you’re chasing $20, $100, $5, $10, $200 over and over and over without any predictability.

We already see with gofundme how distribution becomes unfair and unjust

Thousands get ignored or barely slog to their goal while hundreds can catch fire and exceed expectations.

The need is too great. I don’t think the numbers add up for individuals to find stability unless a commitment of security is being offered by a strong secure group of individuals to make and keep someone who to the point they break through their lower class.

Mutual aid is an absolutely important tool for community care and instills a practice of collective care disrupting individualism

But it’s not sustainable unless it becomes massively mainstream in practice and massive upper class start distributing to many many individuals.

No one should face financial ruin because they got sick or needed medical care.

Healthcare is a basic human right.

These premium increases will ruin people.

It will put people on the streets.

It will end lives.

It will cause more disability.

And share those directly with your friends. Make the ask

The financial security you have is power to wield and offer and that will literally save people and their families right now from going hungry, from drowning in debt, and losing their housing.

Millions and millions of people across our communities are going to be in terrible distress that’s going to drag them down deeper in any precariousness they’re facing.

If you’re comfortable, like you can eat out, you can buy new clothes, you’re going to be deeply deeply needed.

As someone who’s financially secure, and can feed myself, pay my bills, and treat myself to occasional wants and has family stability…anyone who is in this position now is a growth opportunity to be deeply reflecting and asking yourself what more can you give to help others?

Food is not a luxury, it’s necessary for survival.

Things will fall apart when folks can’t feed themselves or their families.

Many don’t even know they won’t be receiving their SNAP.

This is a systemic problem. We have to fix it together.

We need to warn people. Scale up food donations. Prepare.

There’s a lot of fight in folks to reinstate those measures, and the need is so deep.
