We know people understandably have a lot of questions about this, so we have a page dedicated to it on our website. It was written by expert health professionals and patients who have been through it themselves.
It includes:
- how to prepare
- what to expect
- what to ask for
- what to do afterwards

This means taking a small sample of skin, which is tested to confirm whether you have LS, and what treatment is right for you. As well as checking for LS, biopsies are sometimes used to rule out other conditions, including vulval cancer.

In a lot of cases, vulval lichen sclerosus (LS) can be diagnosed by your doctor, based on an examination and a conversation about your symptoms. However, for a small number of people, the signs can be less clear, and a biopsy might be recommended to make sure LS is the right diagnosis.

SNEAK PEEK! We are so excited to launch in just 2 days' time on 17th January, World LS Awareness Day.

LS Guide will be a brand new resource about vulval lichen sclerosus, providing information to empower everyone to learn about the condition, access the right treatment, and live more comfortably.

It was created by expert healthcare professionals, researchers, and people with vulval LS. The guide has tons of information, including on diagnosis, treatment, and how to manage symptoms and make everyday life easier. There's even a treatment plan template for health professionals!

This Friday 17th January, World Lichen Sclerosus Awareness Day, we launch a new resource for people who have vulval lichen sclerosus (LS). The aim is to empower people living with LS to learn about the condition, access the right treatment, and live more comfortably. We can't wait to share this!
