Prelimiary finished pics of the Linebarrel Overdrive. It has a fell spots I need to touch up, but I’m fairly pleased with how it turned out!

The build wasn't fun but the painting in the weathering were great.

I simplified the color scheme, eliminating the white areas. There's just silvery areas where the paint wore away completely. The blue armor and a purple/black understructure with lots of mud and rust.

Got the worst parts of the Linebarrel painted - finally! The arms and sword frame had terrible seamlines. But now I can finally glosscoat these! 🥹

Painting depicting two ZOIDS- large robotic creatures from an 80s toy line. Some figures stand around the closest ZOID, whilst a large T-Rex looms overhead.

When I was a kid I loved ZOIDS and assumed I'd grow up to work for TOMY. That's not come to pass sadly, so I have begun a personal project of painting the kind of scenes I imagined back then.

Back on the Linebarrel. Finally got the dark blue over the primer, and painted the red accent for the shoulder guards. Now to fix the seams on the arms and legs. 🫠

Treated myself to the Sujiborido RP cutter. Been talking about getting one for awhile, and finally pulled the trigger.

Finally watched “Wild Robot”. It was very cute and enjoyable! Definitely teared up a bit. ✨

That’s because IPMS Nat’l org isn’t actually interested in mecha models. They welcome us, but they want mecha folks to eventually transition into traditional modelers. Chapters may vary, but they’re trying to increase members w/out interest in what those folks build.

Overall, it was an enjoyable show. Lots of great models, and met lots of great folks. There’s definitely room for critique, but I could see myself participating more next time around.
