The Wilder Blean project — led by Wildwood Trust and @kentwildlife.bsky.social — has welcomed its fifth bison calf, marking the start of a third generation living in Kent’s ancient woodland near Canterbury.

Dr. Jane understood that, and she worked to ensure we understood, too. She felt that animals, people, and the environment could thrive together – but each of us would have to do our part.
Dr. Jane always said that each animal matters – not only for the role they play to support life, but for their intrinsic value.

I’m sad to hear the news that the wonderful Jane Goodall is no longer in the world. Her work with chimpanzees at Gombe in Tanzania taught us to look at other apes - and ourselves - differently. I was privileged to meet her later in life and tell her what an inspiration she was to me.
