They were designed by John Galen Howard as a streetcar station. Eventually became the librarys streetcar stop but the lanterns were removed when the streetcars were and havent seen the light since.

They're unveiled and restored Saturday! Cost us $15,000 but i mobilized hard for it.

After years of wondering what was meant to be on these pillars by my bus stop, and then fundraising to rebuild them, my lanterns have finally been installed on the Northbrae pillars outside the library. I will nickname them Darrell and Emily, with Emily being beside the library.
