By calling Trump's bluff, Mark #Carney in #Davos essentially pointed out the obvious: the tyrant has no clothes, and called on world leaders to stop going along with the pretense. Trump only has power if we bend the knee to get along with him out of fear.

Mr. Carney, your Davos speech was brilliant and pitch perfect. You said what had to be said, and you make us proud to be Canadian. We won't bend the knee to tyrants, and he can threaten all the tariffs he wants. We'll hang tough.

Canadian here. I loved Carney's speech and am so glad he's our PM. He said what we are all thinking. If the payback comes, so be it. We don't bow down to bullies or lick Nazi boots. We need to be like Norway in 1940, who resisted Hitler even though they knew they would lose a military confrontation.

The problem has always been the people who obey. People who follow orders, excusing it as 'I'm just following orders - I can't be blamed.' The common defense by Nazis at the Nuremburg trials was 'I was just following orders'.

The Nazis in power will bring slavery back by, first, minimizing and re-writing its history. 'It wasn't so bad. Don't exaggerate'. Then re-introduce full fledge slavery through the private prison system: arrest black and brown people, then send them out to work as prisoners via 'reform' programs.

Yes. Canadian here. We're doing that too. My wife is American (we live in Canada now), and she fully supports boycotting US. We need to hit Trump and his sycophants in the pocket book - it's the only thing they care about. The best thing would be for the US stock market to crash hard.

Canadian here: 'most Americans hate him too.' You put him in office twice. So do something about it. Where are the Democrat leaders - largely silent and missing in action from what I can tell. Where is the serious pushback in the Senate? Serious response has been weak and timid at the top.
