18.02.2026 17:17 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I just learned that as of Jan 20, if the book did not have DRM applied (tordotcom books often don't), the original purchaser can download an epub: kdp.amazon.com/en_US/help/t...
This worked for me, although depending on browser you may have to manually change the file extension to .epub
Why yes, I will buy that, tyvm!

This text is centered down the page with the HWA Oregon logo of a slug on a typewriter in the upper right and a wintery forest scene in the background in black and white.
I'm practicing and looking forward to our COLD Horror Reading tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Beaverton City Library.

Even if Noem is out, ICE has to go.
Even when Trump leaves office, ICE has to go.
As protests grow and ICE's popularity drops, we may see concessions and leadership changes, like Bovino's departure. ICE still has to go.

25.01.2026 01:03 β π 5643 π 1817 π¬ 124 π 163Statement from Michael and Susan Pretti Parents of Alex Jeffrey Pretti βWe are heartbroken but also very angry. Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately, he will not be with us to see his impact. I do not throw around the βheroβ term lightly. However, his last thought and act was to protect a woman. The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trumpβs murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper sprayed. Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you.
Kare 11 local news just read, in full, this statement from Michael and Susan Pretti, the parents of Alex Pretti.

As an Arizonan who is often frustrated at his "moderate" positions, I'm pleasantly surprised to see Gallego speak so bluntly about this.

There are a lot of great authors coming to Tucson in its loveliest month.
I reread most books I like, but there are books (and Rakesfall was absolutely one) that I know I'll reread as I'm still reading, and there's nothing better than that anticipation.

18.01.2026 01:47 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 1 π 1I finish books I hate if someone I know (and find reliable) recommends them, but it's only ever paid off once and that dubiously (I hated the whole first Thomas Covenant trilogy until the very end of the whole thing, and even now I'm not sure about it - I was young, haven't reread it as an adult)
15.01.2026 23:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I loved this book - it was one of my favorite reads from the last year. The characters are well-drawn, the setting feels lived-in, and the story gripped me. Out in the UK today, but available in the US as well.
