29.01.2026 03:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1I also try to avoid driving as much as possible. Our 2015 car still has less than 50k miles on it. Every time we take it to get checked/serviced, they always refer to the car as 'still a baby' - I'll take it as a compliment π
09.12.2025 21:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It all looks so beautiful and delicious! Love baking from scratch too, it's so rewarding (for everyone π).
18.11.2025 22:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think any of us who studied extreme heat also understood that extreme cold was a huge driver of mortality. Whether it be AC/HVAC/Heating Systems, we have the tech to protect vulnerable populations but still allow an economic injustice to harm people - programs like LIHEAP helped, now...
02.04.2025 11:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is, in large part, pandemic revenge.
As far as these oligarchs are concerned, all science does is tell them stuff they cannot do.
They can't keep spewing carbon.
They can't keep businesses open as usual when millions are dying.
They have concluded that research is the enemy of profit.
My colleague @askellyphd.bsky.social just published this great paper and while they focused on COVID-19 you could easily substitute it for #ClimateChange impacts to public health and come to similar conclusions - great insight into public health systems and gov response
01.04.2025 16:27 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Great topic and great listen - appreciate your point about needing to come together and find common ground to move forward. Itβs there - but it does get complicated with varying interests. Iβm still hopefully CA will be the leader in figuring it out.
27.03.2025 16:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great write-up - more of these stories are needed. It is the Bay Area but also communities across the US. These grants were to help the most disadvantaged clean up pollution and protect their environment so they could have clean air and clean water - just like every American should.

17.03.2025 12:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0After weeks of the Trump Administration trying and failing to find evidence of wrongdoing in the EPAβs Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, these funds remain illegally frozen.
Just another example of Trump and Musk trying to steal funding allocated by Congress to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.
Iβm optimistic when I see bills like the one from Rep Underwood - βClimate and Health Protection Actβ that codifies climate & health into the Public Health Service Act - very much needed (but may not get far in this Congress) - I think itβs the 3rd time, itβll stick eventually- keeping hope alive! π

Is there a link between #ClimateChange & increasing risk/severity of #wildfire in California--including the still-unfolding disaster? Yes. Is climate change the only factor at play? No, of course not. So what's really going on? [Thread] #CAfire #CAwx #LAfires iopscience.iop.org/a...

A bar graph showing observed temperature trends over the lower 48 states by season. Source: https://www.epa.gov/climate-indicators/climate-change-indicators-seasonal-temperature
As record snowfall blankets the US this week, itβs a good time to remember that (a) winter is the season that is warming fastest and (b) warmer air holds more water vapor β which means more water vapor for storms to sweep up and dump as rain, or snow!
