Absolutely. Anything that allows people to get into the hobby for cheap is amazing. DC has been killing it with compacts and the Finest series. I appreciate Marvel's Essentials but those are generally story arcs and not overviews of the characters.

And furthermore, as someone who does collect all covers of certain series, I write off most of these variants the same way I do as convention and ratio covers: they are unobtainable outside of buying at inflated prices and I don't support artificial scarcity.

It's done clearly to capture the audience who enjoys this nonsense with trading cards and other blind boxes with chase variants. That being said, I am not offended if it helps keep a series running.

Fantastic concept and skeleton, but the fact that there's just these clearly unfinished ideas irritates me because unless you look up that these elements do nothing you would think you were missing something because that's how this game works. Nope, just not done.
