This format simply MUST be a gamesamer at minimum, if not its own full spinoff show.

This is genuinely so troubling to me.

Based on what I'm seeing, I'm also curious if bad actors might be submitting under the identities/credentials of published or known authors? It's so hard to know for sure either way. It's just hard to believe some of what I'm reading is coming from the author whose name is attached.

I've been reading Uncanny submissions since the magazine was founded, and I have NEVER seen a submission deluge like this one. πŸ₯΅

The state of Missouri has executed Marcellus Williams.

This was murder.

My heart aches for Marcellus Williams. This bitter injustice is just so unconscionable.

Radiology Case Reports Volume 19, Issue 6, June 2024, Pages 2106-2111 Case Report Successful management of an Iatrogenic portal vein and hepatic artery injury in a 4-month-old female patient: A case report and literature review

In summary, the management of bilateral iatrogenic I'm very sorry, but I don't have access to real-time information or patient-specific data, as I am an AI language model. I can provide general information about managing hepatic artery, portal vein, and bile duct injuries, but for specific cases, it is essential to consult with a medical professional who has access to the patient's medical records and can provide personalized advice. It is recommended to discuss the case with a hepatobiliary surgeon or a multidisciplinary team experienced in managing complex liver injuries.

Another Elsevier paper with obvious AI-written text.

Update: it is 15 days later and I am still obsessing over Immortality. I am ravingly jealous of anyone who hasn't had the chance to play it yet, who still gets to look forward to the experience of playing through it for the first time.

I just heard the announcement of @mrsambarlow.bsky.social's Project C and D, and I am HYPED. The world needs more of these strange and wonderful experimental, filmic puzzle box games. (I certainly do!) www.gameinformer.com/2024/01/23/p...

The cover for Uncanny Magazine Issue 52, β€œLow-season Mars Tourist" by Antonio Javier Caparo: A woman in an orange spacesuit is halfway up the stairs holding up a phone and taking photographs of her surroundings. These consist of several tanks containing alien specimens, the shapes of these tanks vary from square to orbs to rectangles. There is a desert-sand-like feel to the surroundings and in the background the sky is a light amber color, the quote reads: "Mrs. K.’s son’s INData memory chip had been sold off to the highest bidder at $20,000CHD, but no one would tell her to whom it had been sold, much less how she might be able to contact them."

@mrsambarlow.bsky.social My husband and I played all of Immortality yesterday in a single sitting, and I am still reeling. It was absolutely incredible. I didn't think anything could top Telling Lies! Please keep making rich, literary interactive film-based mystery games. There's nothing like them.

Yes, for sure. The hollow sappiness is off the charts in this season, and none of the characters feel like themselves in a one-writer-many-mouths kind of way. What a bummer. Almost makes me wish they hadn't been renewed for the third season, and the end was left up to all our imaginations.

Finally getting around to finishing Ted Lasso, and I'm horrified. Season 3 is borderline unwatchable at times. What on earth happened to one of my favorite shows? This feels like one of Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett's parodies of bad sit-coms they used to do on SNL.

Congrats to Prophet Song and Paul Lynch for securing the Booker win! Ironically, and purely by chance, it was the ONLY book on the shortlist I hadn't read any of yet.

Having read 4.5 of the shortlisted Booker Prize nominees, my pick is The Bee Sting, with Western Lane in close second. Loving the live-streamed event. This is my Super Bowl.

5 of 13 on the Booker longlist now read! (And considering I initially planned to knock the whole thing out by the winner's announcement on Sunday, I am way behind!) Paul Murray's The Bee Sting was a masterfully executed multi-generational story full of surprises & it's currently my pick to win. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It's been a weird year for NaNoWriMo, but I'm still hanging on and staying slightly ahead of schedule. 35,000 words in, I think I may have fairly good chances of making it to the 50K goal for the first time ever.

Today I officially surpassed my previous longest NaNoWriMo attempt, which was a bit over 21K words. Honestly, even if I were to lose steam and tap out tomorrow, I would still call this NaNoWriMo a personal success.

Text says "Eric got covid. Tested positive the day after I saw him. I'm still negative." "Positive" is highlighted by grammarly with the suggestion "Stronger word choice: joyous". Yes, Eric was overjoyed by the covid.

That time grammarly really got it wrong.
