⚠️I met the Poppleton Traffic Action Group in May and have supported their petition and efforts towards safer streets.

I'll continue to work closely with Cllr Kate Ravilious on this issue and take feedback from constituents to help ensure we have safe streets for all.

Luke Charters MP, MP for York Outer, who recently visited the hospice, said: "I'm pleased that this Labour Government has allocated over £420,000 of important funding to St Leonard's Hospice in my constituency, for capital projects. "I welcomed St Leonard's being awarded £144,000 back in February from the Government, which will help support their digital ambitions, and in turn give clinical teams more time to care. "I know first-hand that St Leonard's provides such invaluable support in our community for people with life-limiting conditions and their loved ones, and this Government funding will make a real difference to the fabric of such a wonderful space. "St Leonard's lovingly cared for my uncle with extraordinary compassion last year in his final weeks, and since becoming the MP, I have visited the wonderful space they have and met with the team who serve families so well across York."

🗞️I spoke to The York Press about the welcome news that St. Leonard's is getting £420,000 investment from the Labour Government.

I know this will make a huge different to a place which has such a special place in people heart's across York.

🌳It was great to visit Wigginton Moorlands before my paternity leave and meet the volunteers, staff and residents who enjoy this beautiful space.

🧑‍🧒Before going on paternity leave earlier this month, I told the BBC I’d take at least four weeks off to support my family & make memories.

As my leave began, the government launched a review and consultation on parental rights, a fantastic step forward! 👏

I wanted to say a huge thank you to all our teachers, support staff, teaching assistants and school leaders across York for all of their hard work.🙌

I have loved visiting schools across York Outer this year and seeing dedication our staff have in ensuring our children have the best start in life!

In October, I spoke in a debate about water companies and called for Ofwat to be scrapped and replaced, and for Sir Jon Cunliffe to include this in his report.

I welcome the news today in the Cunliffe Report, that one of its recommendation is that Ofwat is scrapped.

Over the last year, Public Accounts Committee have investigated water sector regulation.

Our inquiry has found neglected infrastructure, rising customer bills, and no clear explanation of where the money goes.

Last month, I joined a debate on the Theft of Tools of Trade, called by my colleague Amanda Martin MP.

The fact that over 75% of tradespeople have had their tools stolen is shocking, and I’ve heard similar stories from constituents as well.

A huge week for York Outer!🥳

The Government has confirmed it will fund both Haxby Station and York Outer Ring Road Dualling Phase 1.

As one of just three new rail stations nationally, alongside ring road dualling, this is a major boost for local transport and our community.

🚄The cost of the HS2 'bat tunnel' spiralled out of control under the previous government.

My question to the Secretary of State, Heidi Alexander on what this government doing to hold HS2 bosses to account to ensure no more money is wasted, so we can get on and deliver.🪏

Yorkshire Water’s failure to invest is shameful, and yet again, it’s the public who are paying for their utter incompetence.

I know from countless leaks in York alone, that they’d likely have been able to fill dozens of Olympic Swimming Pools – so I won’t accept this failure.

📰A month ago, after the Spending Review, I said I was confident this Government would deliver Haxby Station.

❌Under the Tories, the station was unfunded and left in limbo for years.

✅Now, thanks to strong collaboration between Mayor David Skaith and me, this Labour government is making it happen.
