Ok fell off the map here a little bit. Thursday, May 1: voted for bargaining delegates for my union’s upcoming contract negotiations #didthistosay.

Thursday, April 17: attended a panel presentation of professors whose research relates to global refugees/borders/migration. Encouraged me to think more deeply about historical migration and displacement patterns related to colonialism. #didthistoday

Monday, April 14: attended (virtually) the city council meeting in support of our local mobile crisis response team. Can’t believe not funding them is even an option. #didthistoday

Wednesday, April 9: attended my union’s monthly meeting. Trying to do what I can, see the forest for the trees, and not get entangled in the daily chaos.

Tuesday, April 8: visited an Indigiqueer art exhibit. Simultaneously a gut-punch and so so life giving

Sunday, April 6: went to my local Native American Arts & Crafts Makers market! Saw a lot of really neat beading and got some cool earrings for a work event next month. #didthistoday

Saturday, April 5: went to a DSA 101 meeting at my local chapter to learn more about what they do. Thanks to all who protested! #didthistoday

Thursday, April 3: listened to Ruha Benjamin on Trever Noah's "What Now?" podcast -- a lot to chew on with abolition, AI perpetuating bias, and the ways institutions (especially universities!!!) weaponize DEI initiatives against marginalized communities. #didthistoday

There’s a theory in organizing called pitchfork theory. It says that one strategy alone has minimal impact, but multiple strategies can have massive ones.

Let’s use the Americans With Disabilities Act as an example.

Wednesday, March 5: voted in accordance with REI Union recommendations in the board elections. Took like 30 seconds.

Monday, March 3: donated to my local food bank through our state governor’s food drive

February 27: reported school districts with book bans

Wednesday, February 26: emailed the Oregon Investment Council as a PERS-holding employee, asking them to divest the 1.78% of the portfolio that’s in Tesla stock.

Tuesday, February 25: donated to @irap.bsky.social to support ongoing lawsuits for refugee/immigrant rights (was particularly horrified today by the Washington Post story re: conditions at Guantanamo Bay)

Monday, February 24: participated in a project commemorating people who died because of US “hostile terrain” immigration laws

Friday, February 21: celebrated with community. A new exhibit opening at work; years and years of work ready for the public to see.
