I think a promotion/relegation league would be best since S3NAL and CCA occupy people's weekends so matches could be scheduled whenever. Ladder seeding events could be held on a variety of days/times to accommodate different timezones.

It would make people feel like they earned their placement, rather than it feeling like it was given to them by offering up a bunch of tournament results to staff.

I know this is an old-ish post, but I've been brainstorming a lot about what this could look like. Having a division/seeding system that is both based on objective metrics (I'm thinking average ladder performance/ELO) and dynamic (with clear criteria for promotion/relegation) would be HUGE.

I'm referring to where I used to go to high school (I'm a college student now). I could maybe look into coaching a team of people who are students in the district and have them play some entry-level tournaments to gather more interest

I'm biased when I say this, but I think Splatoon is the *perfect* scholastic esport. It's a shooter, which is one of if not the biggest genre of esport, but with the violence toned down for general audiences to enjoy. Scholastic Splatoon could introduce people to esports as a whole, too.

Collegiate has been a boon to the greater scene not only because you have teams like BFSC and Splatlanders who grew from collegiate into other events, but also individual players like Fox!, Goat Child, and Sibirrino, to name a few. Plenty of commentators also got their start in collegiate.

Neither of the statewide esports leagues that my alma mater plays in offers #compsplatoon, which is a shame because growing the scholastic scene only benefits the entire Splatoon scene by creating opportunities to showcase new players, and also analysts, coaches, and commentators.

I'm admittedly guilty of this, but low-level places too much stock in using and estimating LUTI Divs. I don't think it's our fault; it has to do more with the fact that we don't have a consistent, operationally defined ranking of teams. X Power is fine but is better for midlevel and up imo.

Person has child with someone who is academically gifted but struggles with emotions. AUTISM - many such cases! But the RADICAL RIGHT wants you to believe it is the TYLENOL'S FAULT! They want all the pregnant women to lose their RIGHTS and be in PAIN!

To my CCA friends: watch out for Coyotes Black this season. Sibirrino, atlas, and Sunday provide a lot of firepower and experience, and Alex and Brines are strong team players who can round out a team really well.

After doing some tryouts, I think I would feel comfortable just playing the three minis in comp. I feel like improving on it is more intuitive to me than other stuff I've mained in the past. I'll probably play mostly zimi, keeping pocket vimi for good hammer mapmodes and kmini for dealing w anchors.

I agree; I just thought of the name 28 comp today as a reference to the zombies in the 28 days/weeks later movies that just run at you at full speed. It's stupid and doesn't 100% represent the full idea of HD but a lot of other names are references to other esports strats that aren't comparable.

I actually considered suggesting this for competitive leagues (e.g. LUTI) so that players could focus on a mode. It's similar to the InkTV Resurgence League except you count every map instead of the entire mode as one "point". I'm low level, but most of what I play is all modes.

The tiered farm system would allow all skill levels to play, and events could be run in/near the CCA’s offseasons to enhance both events’ viewership. Obviously it wouldn’t be as much of a spectacle as something like the OWL given lack of $, but it would be a cool parallel to “real sports”. (2/X)

An idea I had today based on feedback for the CCA: what if there was a school alumni league for #compsplatoon where each team has its own farm system akin to north american baseball? Collegiate teams would have another incentive to play in external events to improve their player’s draft stock. (1/X)

Based on Area Cup, where Urchin is played often due to the counterpick style, I recall seeing a lot of vDapples there (as well as some c96) so I would say Dapples.

Awesome seeing Riukun being able to get a result so quickly with the new mini. I think having a mint that can set up bubbles for both of them and having the combo of beakons and bubble is scary to fight against on paper - hope more people to try it in the west.

REALLY hoping the new mini splatling (which I assume will be abbreviated as rMini based on the announcement) fills a beakon support niche in #compsplatoon. Ofc one loses out on chip with no burst or hammer throw but that's what vSplash does best. The question is how does it compete with vShot?
