FEMA Employees Reassigned to ICE Probationary employees who had been on paid leave were told to report to ICE within seven days or lose their jobs. It could signal problems with ICE recruitment.

Some probationary employees with #FEMA were informed via email on 8/5/25 they have been reassigned to #ICE. They have 7 days to accept reassignment, or be removed from civil service.

Apparently ICE is having recruitment issues.

👏 as a former grants EM, I thought about all their equipment. “Back to the states” guts those 1st responder support programs (UASI, AFG, SHSP, etc.) for regional and national search and rescue operations that very few locals could ever afford. Scary times.
