My cats and dogs get fed after we've eaten, it stops them mithering us all afternoon and evening.

(Obviously they mither us during and immediately after our meal, but that’s still better than all afternoon and evening.)

I have a cat very like yours, and she too has a lovely shiny, thick coat.

Her whiskers are so dark she looks like she hasn’t got any though, particularly next to her white-whiskered sister.

The RAF is playing silly buggers in MY patch of sky. Fun at first but they’ve been at it for an hour.

(It may not be anywhere near “my” patch of sky, I’m equidistant between Exmoor and Dartmoor which is where they often play their games, and I can’t actually see them.)

Just saw two hounds running around my garden.

Can’t hear the rest of the hunt yet but both my cats have raced indoors and up the stairs to safety.

Hope the fox has somewhere s/he can hide.

Heh, nice dream, but in fact she will soon look enormous, largely because of her long hair which adds a couple of inches all round.

She is adorable! And torties (or calicos) live a very long time, often into their 20s.

Last night I finally got round to putting our new heated mattress topper on the bed (just as the cold weather turned mild of course) - OMG, it was gorgeous, like someone had put me back inside the womb.

Ah, thanks. My friend says that tortoiseshell cats are VERY long-lived, often making it into their 20s. As I have two tortie sisters - also farm kittens - I worry they’ll outlive me!

What colour are your 19-year old cats, please?

(My vet nurse friend has a theory about long-lived cats and the colour of their fur, I’m just trying to test it out here, thank you!)
