I’m assuming it’s a weekend call center worker who doesn’t really know what’s going on and is giving bad info.

But they lost a sale because of it, and a complaint has been sent to Dept of Revenue’s sales tax folks.

That was 2023, but MC has had stores in the state long before that so they’ve had to collect and remit the taxes before that.

If they’re assessing tax based on their warehouse and not where I am, thats wrong. And if collecting and remitting tax on some other state, that’s really wrong.

Most states used to only collect sales tax if seller had nexus there. Without that it was up to buyer to voluntarily report and pay the sales tax but I’ve never met anyone who ever did. lol

Missouri was last state in the country to explicitly require online sellers to collect and remit sales tax.

Then she said Micro Center orders are shipped from warehouses outside of Missouri, so sales tax is based on the location of the warehouse because that’s where they “run the card.”

Excuse me? I’m no MO sales tax law expert, but…

Tried to order a hard drive from Micro Center to take advantage of the tax free weekend. Order showed tax would be charged, so I started a chat with an agent.

She claimed sales tax holiday only applies to in store sales which is not true, and I pointed her to DOR link that says online qualifies.

I am so sick and tired of Donny Dumbshit constantly using fentanyl as his justification for fucking with our trade with Canada. In the long list of things that aren't real problems, fentanyl from Canada is pretty high up there. 🙄

I have a hard time believing that Customs and USPS are any better prepared to handle ending de minimis exceptions for imports now than they they were before President Dipshit pushed up the timeline from what Congress passed to August 29.

Platter with smoked brisket slices, several burnt ends, bbq saice, street corn, and cucumber-onion salad.

Paper cup of salted caramel ice cream with chopped up pieces of burnt ends on top.

In KC so had to get some Q39. So so so good.

Had the wings to start, then brisket and burnt ends for mymain. Dessert was their July special: salted caramel ice cream with burnt ends. 😍

This TV is super generic and I can get to the setup menu, but the generic universal remote they provide doesnt have the arrow keys to navigate.

I need to buy a universal remote that I can use to get to a setup menu.

Hate hotels that put TVs in rooms without any buttons on the TV and only provide basic remotes that don’t let you change inputs.
