For some unknown reason, the 9yo told the ticket seller that Disneyland used to have a Skyway. Not sure where she picked that up.

My first skyway ride in 31 years reminds me of what Disneyland has been missing. (It was the kids' favorite thing about the San Diego Zoo, despite I think also seeing hundreds of different animals they had never seen before, having never been to a zoo.)

Most fraudulent, perhaps.

In its early days*, Disneyland only scraped by on the loose change the visitors left in the attraction queues.

December 1997 photograph of the Fire Station on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland, with Holiday Cookie Decorating available. No historical plaques are present. I happen to be walking away on the right, wearing a Disneyland sweatshirt that would become famous (to me) three months later when I was photographed wearing it as the first dollar customer at Redd Rockett's Pizza Port.

Thankfully @calldougmarsh.bsky.social inadvertently captured this photo of me with the Fire Station in 1997, well before the machine uprising.

Going to tell my kids that when they see these plaques in “photos” they were AI artifacts.

Wait, isn’t the “always lit” lamp in Walt’s Apartment replaced by a Christmas tree for a while? I hope they have a seasonal holiday plaque in storage to address this!

Tomorrow is the eighth anniversary of my lock screen photo (which I have not changed since). I mentioned to the kids maybe it’s time for a change, and they said NO because it’s “the lock screen they grew up with.”

Now pay attention to all of the stairs...

It is definitely modern, as it doesn't show up in any meaningful way in the first 65 years of Disneyland internal publications. Which means that there's somebody out there who can tell us, "Yes, I just liked the word!" and put it on any project they were working on.
