05.12.2025 21:00 — 👍 5 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Appreciate you. Thankfully, my youngest kid's LAUSD school has chosen not to emphasize screen use, but... I really hate how much it's used for my older kids.

Kisses and hugs, Bryan
Uh, pardon my French, but... holy shit.
03.12.2025 23:07 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0if I could only listen to one kind of music for the rest of my life, the answer would be Memphis soul. RIP Steve Cropper, whose guitar and production defined the Stax sound as much as Booker T’s organ or Otis Redding’s shout
03.12.2025 21:56 — 👍 2055 🔁 342 💬 84 📌 49So I ended up doing exactly this (well not every episode but...) and it's not pointed out often enough that almost everybody uses this meme wrong. (Don is intensely jealous of / threatened by Ginsberg and thinks about him constantly!)
03.12.2025 20:17 — 👍 135 🔁 10 💬 0 📌 10Why has no one manufactured a nutcracker modeled after Nosferatu in the Robert Eggers movie?
03.12.2025 20:01 — 👍 78 🔁 7 💬 7 📌 1Yeah, and... (sigh, RIP)... I still don't love that movie! Love the play!
01.12.2025 04:35 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Playbill cover of THE REAL THING by Tom Stoppard
Tom Stoppard. Had the pleasure of seeing his plays performed many times -- my two faves being a student performance of THE REAL INSPECTOR HOUND, in the summer of '94 when I was at Interlochen Arts camp, and the wonderful 2000 revival of THE REAL THING w/ Stephen Dillane and Jennifer Ehle. RIP
29.11.2025 23:31 — 👍 17 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Good morning! I took the opportunity of the BEATLES ANTHOLOGY's streaming debut to write about THE COMPLEAT BEATLES, the (imho) far superior Fab Four doc, and why, because of the ANTHOLOGY, it's so hard to see.

I really like Synecdoche, NY -- didn't really fit the vibes I was personally going for regarding the topic, but great movie. Didn't even think about Rosencrantz & Guildenstern but I guess it does qualify (along with Hamlet, I suppose). But only so many picks!

20.11.2025 19:08 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0The problem, as ever, is there are too many great options!
20.11.2025 19:03 — 👍 9 🔁 1 💬 3 📌 0Great movie. We determined it wasn't eligible, though, as it's really a movie of Uncle Vanya presented in the style of a table read, not a movie ABOUT actors rehearsing Uncle Vanya. Like, the director doesn't stop Wallace Shawn and give him a note, etc. Great movie, though!

13.11.2025 02:10 — 👍 3713 🔁 505 💬 61 📌 32There are about a million things wrong with entertainment journalism these days, but one of my biggest sticking points is that I would give anything to dedicate time to hyping up hidden gems and independent productions, but no one (who will also pay) is willing to platform pieces about them.

This is a bummer, man.
