they were muppets in the original btw, the point of the skeksis is that they're incompetent and their natures contradict their lofty titles, suddenly the show wants you to take them seriously, okay, maybe they atrophied over time like their bodies, sure, then the big bad is like. "teehee. no"

yeah yeah ik it's a puppet drama about facism but so was the original movie, and for the longest time the show pretends the skeksis are more competent manipulators than they are, but a character's arc is ruined by the muppets Suddenly behaving like muppets instead of characters in a drama series idk

Coupled with the handful of scenes that are just really unpleasant and are lacking the earnest wonder of a dark fantasy movie I just uh... In an incomplete state, it's a very frustrating show tbh
I think if it hadn't been cancelled I would like it but as it stands I feel. Weird about it.

I guess maybe Netflix thought no one would watch it without recognizable names but that seems like setting it up for failure on purpose and a couple of the voices I think are actively detrimental to the legacy characters

I just gotta be honest as expensive as a show with an all puppet cast and real sets and practical and special effects has to be already idk why age of resistance was like. Yeah sorry the cast has to all be celebrity guests
