Aside from the controller support, a few games I tweaked the audio engine to improve some sound effects.
For LifeForce I updated the image in the options screen.
And finally, in Kid Icarus I finally fixed the bug where sprites weren't properly going behind BG tiles:

And now a fix for my latest game! I missed the knockback sound effect (actually all dcpm sfx, and am going to go back and see if CV2 uses any more). I've rectified the situation and updated both archive.org and mega.nz locations with the latest file. Music disabled in this clip to demonstrate.

I just realised that scrolling can be used to do temporal reprojection of interlaced lines to reduce the artefacts. Only in 2d space but still ๐ฎ!

A big change I'm working on is allowing BOSSES to be shot with the PEARL POWER. I think it's the right thing to do, since it make the power-up feel more meaningful.
But each of the 8 unique bosses need to be re-coded a bit to support this. Should be worth it I hope!

Super fun game! It's got a great "pick up and play" style that is fun even for 5-10 minute bursts of play. Highly recommend.

So it is possible to do 60fps 3d on the sega megadrive by using a very exotic indexing method to simulate 2 colors + alternating lines + fast DMA. Totally interlaced my brain ๐
