Does that matter at all to Democratic senators?

The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.

If this week has taught us anything, it's that passionate people can defeat machines designed to break us. Don't look at the Dem Party as a completed institution, but one that is ready for change. We can take it and force it to work for us, which is happening now. Be a part of that and be loud.

Politicians aren’t going to save us. Most of them are just in it for themselves.

We’ve gotta protect one another, and build the society that we want to see.

People power will always overcome. When we’re organized, we’re unstoppable.

Tonight was a very bad night.

Cowards. Strategically having people who aren't up for re-election vote to kill the ACA so that the remainder can save some face.

This is a bad deal, and the old way of doing things is clearly not working.

We need new leaders in the Senate.

Tuesday’s elections were NOT about the Democratic Party.

They were about candidates focusing on the wants and needs of their constituents; about new leaders prepared to fight; about representation in every sense of the word.

Party leaders haven’t absorbed this yet.

I've looked at all the details of this deal to end the shutdown reached by a small group of Senate Democrats. I've talked to a number of friends on the Hill to see if there's anything I'm missing. Sadly, I am not.

This is a shit deal. It's a betrayal. It's cowardice.

A select few Democrats are will be voting against the public interest.

They will be effectively killing ACA. They will be denying millions coverage. They will be increasing long term costs.

And why?

Because they don't actually care.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
