I wish you all the most peaceful of days. I've been working on a short story inspired by walking my dog in the evenings. I'm attempting to capture a Spielbergian/80s childhood vibe. I can see this being the environment I write many stories within. Take care of yourselves, friends.

Although I'm still unemployed, although my country is tearing itself a part, I will take pride in one thing this year. I've just completed the first draft of my first novel. I don't yet have a title for this cozy fantasy. I am quite proud of it, though. It makes me smile. #booksky #fantasy

Although I've been unemployed due to layoff, I find it remarkable how much I've been able to produce on this novel. Roughly 110k words written since mid-February. Hopeful my unemployment will soon end, but, I appreciate the time I've had to write. Therapy for trauma? Yes. #booksky #sff #fantasy

As I get closer to finishing my first novel, I am naturally telling myself it is crap and how dare I attempt this endeavor. So, daily reminder to myself and everyone writing: even if it never makes it past your beta readers and your mother, take some pride in yourself. You deserve it. #sff #booksky

I'll skip the regular ones and go for one that damaged me a bit in college: The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy. There's a scene that left me shaken.
