This, and worse, is soon going to be the norm. We must act decisively and globally to keep fossil fuels in the ground and rapidly decarbonise to have any hope of our grandchildren having a livable planet.

Incredible restaurants
Wimbledon
The NHS
Live music
Great comedy
Hyde Park and many others
Heathrow
Moderate weather
And more

If we want to prevent the most catastrophic impacts of the climate crisis, there must be no new oil and gas drilling. The evidence could not be clearer. So why won't Starmer commit to leaving all fossil fuels in the ground?

On one hand this is good news - particularly if it reflects newly expanded capacity for generation. On the other hand solar has done well because we’ve had such an unusually dry and sunny spring. At Wild & Other, our solar was up 43% on the same quarter in 2024 but we had 12 weeks with no rain!!

I completely agree and this is why I am proud to be a member of the @greenparty.org.uk. Our government’s silence on this - in fact, cowardice on this - is inexcusable.
