Second half of my day is being spent with the superb Sir Nigel Gresley! The LNER A4 number 60007 is on her second weekend steaming at the line.

After a quick break at Ropley I’m back with CanPac on an Alton bound service, I’ll stay with her and then take the service all the way up to Alresford!

It was on a Sheffield service for sure (1F17 yesterday) and she had a northern accent so could have been! She was absolutely brilliant - couldn’t fault her service! Comes across as a genuinely lovely person.

Well the PIS art was very much appreciated by me! Reminded me of being a young kid and seeing the last years of the slammers with the route number on the front! Nostalgic!

I thought it was you outside of the station (I snuck in when the guy in the pink hi-viz was doing a tourist guide sort of pitch to some folks right next to you). Also loving the fact you have the route number displayed! Sadly not joining your service today… I depart from platform 3!

I know people want to avoid me when I travel on EMR, but going to the Netherlands was a bit extreme 😂 your colleague (Sarah I think she was called) was however lovely as a first class host! Enjoy your holiday!

It’s always sad when a loco you love comes to the end of her ticket. I had a great day with Bahamas today, she’s a lovely locomotive that’s brought me many great days - so I salute her 🫡 here’s to a speedy overhaul and looking forward to having her back whenever that may be! Farewell Bahamas!

Don’t have one - I rarely travel standard on distance journeys, except Avanti - but that’s only because they are so expensive to travel in first.

Time for my second run behind the beautiful Bahamas at her farewell weekend! A glorious locomotive which I’ll miss dearly!
