This is in the UK, I think you have willow grouse or ptarmigan that have winter plumage of white, ours stay brown all year.

Went to my local library this morning to do a bit of research for my current book project and my goodness such a life-affirming space! There was an adult being taught to read on the next table, children enjoying story time, countless people taking out books. So grateful for our libraries ❤️

A small brown bird with a light coloured bill that has a dark ring near the tip, is propelling itself over submerged weeds in the water. It's dark grey/black legs can be seen at the very end of it's body. The whole background is shade of light brown, the water, the rushes are all a muddy colour.

It took me more than 4 years to capture a scene I could only dream of. A magnificent Condor soars above the peaks of Argentina's Mount Fitz Roy, as they are spot lit in beautiful morning light.

Wood ear fungus on a fallen tree. Caused by the recent rain storm.

Needed to go for a walk after work. The news of the day causing past trauma to emerge. Visited a local park. Had a cry. Talked to the Tui, listened to cicadas, saw yellow flowers. Distracted by fungi. Felt the Sun on my face. Still needed a hug. Sending a hug out to you. Hold your loved ones close.
