The regret she felt back then is what you're feeling now. I've made sure to not push her towards any conclusions, only commenting once she arrived at them on her own.

She can speak to her own experiences when she's ready, but that's the difference: I never pressured her into any of this.

I've actively prioritized her mental health and well-being, making sure she prioritized that over anything else. I even pushed her to try starting it purely as a way to organize and process her thoughts and feelings. She decided that she needed to turn it into something more as a form of penance.

I also need to confront a very specific issue I have with the interpretations of our actions: I have never pushed Dusk to write her current doc(s).
I've actually actively discouraged her from doing it if it meant compromising her mental health. I've stopped her when I've noticed her pushing herself.

My mission has always been to be a soft place to land for people on their way out of The Foundation and PZ's grasp.

The rest of the docs happened because I found out how much Noeh had fought to not go, then Poppy refused to accept any responsibility when I confronted her in private.

We're not all "changing our tune" or "swooping in" because we're opportunistic. It's the same as it's always been, regardless of how they've twisted it: we all know how hard it is once you decide to voice anything that's against their central messaging. The way they treat you for feeling conflicted.

I have no desire to speak to or rekindle a friendship with Annie. But I can't help but feel sympathetic having been exactly where she is at right now.

I know everyone rolls their eyes at the C word, so I won't say it, but…

Annie, this is not normal. This is not how friends treat each other.

This isn't about me. I won't bring up PZ at all. This is about you and your server and how you hurt someone you care about.

Stop trying to play detective with my posts. You know I only show 10% publicly and your confusion is due to missing the rest.

Also, Poppy, on the whole "Dusk groomed Chem" notion, let me get this straight:
- Nothing that any of you did to Dusk can't ever count as grooming because she was over 18
BUT
- Dusk (20) just talking Chem (25?) about why she decided to leave DOES count as grooming?

Explain.

I really really really need people to understand that there is a difference between "You Can't Help Someone Who Doesn't Want It" & "Your Abuse is Your Own Fault if You Don't Ask For Help" and this is a Licensed Therapist telling people the latter

That’s not a rhetorical question. Think about it. Think about what it says about their priorities and perspective.

Remember, many, many of us tried to talk reason into Poppy and Zena. In response, we were invalidated, insulted, and made to feel morally wrong for it. Many of us tried until it fucked up our mental health. Many of us were exiled and publicly smeared after.

Why wouldn’t someone feel safe, I wonder?

It’s stunning that Poppy’s response is still “they’re insane, they’re lost, forget them,” collapsing any reason into labeling Dusk as crazy.

I have always sought to understand rather than dismiss, sometimes to a fault. The “they were never worth it” people are gaslighters by definition.

Poppy puts all of the onus on the severely traumatized victim and has no empathy for why they might feel unsafe talking about these things. Ironically, this is the crux of why people didn’t feel safe coming to server leadership.

We will go to court. There will be another doc. It will be about this feeling in Poppy’s server.

And Annie’s.

The goal is to make people see, including them. At least we know Annie will read the one about hers.

Or we can discuss it directly.

They don’t understand that if someone feels troubled, those environments normalize and celebrate that behavior (and exile is such a constant threat) that they don’t feel safe coming to any of them.

It felt unsafe saying anything, and I can explain why.

That’s the conversation that needs to be had.
