i think what my specific grievance is with it is that it just doesn't feel like the right direction for bluesky/the ATmosphere. it's too specific and "corporate", and feels like the beginnings of bloat. if this was a feature that could be BUILT upon to have phone-account links, i think i'd like it

it's an opt in feature, you have to turn it on for someone to see your account. if you don't do anything, the feature is already off and they can't see your account. still though i see what you mean, this is a bit of a sucky feature
