This is a pretty unfair calculation - ICE is destroying the economy of a metropolitan area with 3.5 million people, and the fallout of govt shutdowns is not automatically millions of bankruptcies. Political machinations are not my area, but this is not a simple comparison.

I appreciate the thoughtfulness, but I think this gets the relationship backwards. Organizing is managing a coalition, alienating a dedicated volunteer is a failure of leadership. I kinda assume if he was being an a-hole we'd see screenshots like when he's an a-hole online.

Having a "no press" rule makes no sense in this context - there are not general rules about who can be a passenger, you trust that your neighbor is putting the community first.

I don't think that's clear, and it also just doesn't matter. Commuting is about coordination and safety, that working as a team can protect the community. Nothing he's posted changes that.

He personally inspires me - one of many motivations that help me overcome the fear I get before a shift.
