Caerphilly result, from a progressive rather than partisan point of view, is great. 1. The more people wake up to the power of turning out/voting tactically the better; 2. Given Lab still has four years in gov't with a big majority, the more it is terrorised away from regressive policies the better.

Any ideas what may have happened in the interim?
The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice. Except it doesn’t bend on its own—it bends because we pull it in the direction of justice. What keeps me hopeful during times like these is being surrounded by people who are doing just that.

What we are witnessing is an outright abuse of power.
This administration is attacking critics and using fear as a weapon to silence anyone who would speak out. Media corporations — from television networks to newspapers — are capitulating to these threats.
Glad that Gov. Gavin Newsom is up for the fight and understands the danger.

It promoted idiocy and deceit, endorsed racism, divided us, made us poorer, weaker, less safe and less sane. It’s belittled the country, killed the Tory party and given birth to Reform.
A relentless klaxon of failure.

I hope politicians from all parties come together to condemn his deeply dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric.
Britain must stand united against this clear attempt to undermine our democracy.
Wednesday's march in London against Trump's state visit is the opportunity to rally against right-wing extremism.

Trump, MAGA, Musk, and their attacks on human rights, accountability, and the rule of law, aren't welcome here!

Appalled by the violent scenes of police being attacked at the Tommy Robinson rally today. Those responsible should face the full force of the law.
These far right thugs do not speak for Britain.
Absolutely unbelievable to see egregious anti-science nonsense being given an airing like this. Well done @lewisgoodall.com for calling it out. “A broad church… freedom of speech” - and that’s the excuse for platforming not just misinformation but disinformation.

The fact is that a majority of the British people dislike everything about Reform and Farage. Most of us are broadly supportive of immigation and proud of our role providing asylum to people escaping persecution.
The ECHR is the backbone of the Good Friday Agreement. With Reform UK calling for the UK to withdraw, we need to speak out.
Add your name to our letter to the Government, and make sure that Nigel Farage's divisive policies don't gain more traction.

Where has this ludicrous ECHR "debate" even come from.
I've never once met an ordinary member of the public who's said to me, "Do you know what? We REALLY need to leave the ECHR."
It's just a new right wing talking point because every other shit idea they've foisted on us has run out of steam.
