I loved This Thing of Ours by Frederick Joseph — so much warmth+ love in this story of friendship, resistance+ self-discovery. One of those books that confronts a lot w/o feeling impossible, providing a springboard to teach + talk w young ppl about racism, homophobia, book banning + social justice.

Devouring important reads on vacation. This collection by Frederick Joseph was raw, unfiltered, essential. Heart-breaking too. I’ll be thinking about these essays for a long time.

Important, place-based (NYC) storytelling, rife with the sad realities of injustice, against a backdrop of the COVID 19 pandemic. Beautiful poetry and prose. If you teach young people especially, I recommend. @mobrowne.bsky.social

Laughed out loud a whole bunch when reading The Wedding People by Alison Espach. I enjoyed it so much.

Poignant, tender, and heart-breaking at times. Tabbed the whole book through. I loved this debut collection by Frederick Joseph. We Alive, Beloved
