A map of Northern Ontario, Canada, just to the west of James Bay. There's a hole burned through the map mid way up to the left, the edges charred. Around the hole are realistic painted wooden matches, a couple still aflame. Further down the map are several unburnt matches with red match heads.

On a dark green background with a few small streaks of orange and red, there’s a large hibiscus flower on the right and some foliage to the left. The flower is multicoloured with many shades of pink, orange, yellow and red.

Ending #ArtAdventCalendar with one of my favourite paintings, the largest flower painting I’ve made so far. Thanks everybody for making this event so uplifting and inspiring!

A fly agaric mushroom, the background is unfocused but with shades of red-ish brown on the upper left fading to greens on the top right. The ground around the mushroom is covered in foliage with what appears to be berries surrounding the mushroom. On the left their color is red while on the right it’s yellow.

For day 23 of #ArtAdventCalendar I offer you a fly agaric mushroom. A symbol of good luck here in Austria, mainly for the New Year, but it definitely has a general winter holiday vibe too.

I’m sad this is nearly over - it’s been great to see so much art on Bluesky.

My offering this evening is a pastel painting from earlier this year, inspired by returning Nightjars in the spring.

(Only 158 days until they’re back again. 😉)

Mechanical fish with copper body and scales stainless steel head and gears for eyes

Anyone like #Steampunk ? My #ArtAdventCalendar post today comes with a rather dark poem:

A vertically oriented rectangular oil painting of a bouquet of a variety of different daffodils hung upside down from an orange ribbon that spirals down through the stems and flowers. Going to fill out the last few days of #ArtAdventCalendar with a few favorites. I paint #daffodils a lot, and I love each #painting, but this one was an absolute favorite. Day 22.

Looking up the old, narrow cobbled street, The Shambles, where the first floors overhang the ground floor shops, to the extent it was said one could shake hands across the street. There are lots of people in the street receding into the distance.

One need not travel far to find a good photograph. This was near my mailbox, and as if I could not take a hint, this twig almost poked me in the eye. The composition features a small twig extending horizontally, adorned with ice, with one frozen drop hanging down as the centerpiece diamond in Nature's priceless necklace.
