'Whoops, my bad' keeps things way lighter than doubling down about how you were funny.

I am not unaware of these things. Sometimes a joke is ill-timed and not that good. I saw the 'joke' because I'm a fan of yours and thought you might want to reconsider as it's not funny and quite uncomfortable to read at this moment in time.

As a response, this is quite a bummer.
