In my last playthrough morale completely broke in the last sector, but I still got to the final mission before it turned into a riot.

I'm really not seeing this morale problem other people are having. I'm at -20 from staying too long in the sector and I'm still at max.

I hate layering reds.

I like how it breaks up the purple, though the sharp corners are a little distracting. Maybe it should be a bit thinner?

Meanwhile two Primarchs with ill definied missions get to be the cover guys for video games, campaigns, books, and the setting in general.

Abaddon and Vashtorr should really be the big bads of the setting, threatening the empyrean and the regular universe. But they're just gone until they're needed again. Abaddon literally tore the galaxy in twain, but he's closer to background material than an in-game force or in-universe threat.

This is exactly it. Everything has moved forward, but to a consumer that just means new models to buy. They're releasing a rulebook every three years, which should be an opportunity to commit to big changes, but it's all the same as it was twenty years ago but with a couple of new faces.

Ghaz is dead! But he's not. Yarrick is nowhere to be found! But he's definitely not dead. Cadia fell, but Cadian guard are still the standard. 'Nids are ready to eat the galaxy, but we're ignoring that for now. Abaddon has a new, major ally, but they're on holiday.

I'm a lapsed player, but I find this habit of advancing a story then leaving it in limbo really frustrating. Primarchs are back, but we get very little of what they're doing. Aeldari are on the rise, but they're also not. Necrons are reviving en masse, but only in like one sector.
