Removing the COMMISSIONED art from the closed sphere where it was posted BEHIND A PAYWALL and a CENSOR, placing that art into a main tag WITHOUT TAGGING??? I name you shit stirrer and an asshole.

If you the viewer come across triggering content on AO3, you did it to yourself, because there are MULTIPLE LAYERS you have to go through to even GET to that point. The onus is on you the viewer for not curating your content.

AO3 is an EXQUISITE example, as they are an archive of work that moderates only spam and bots, leaving everything else to tags and filters and INDIVIDUAL CONSENT TO VIEWING.

Like an abuse survivor processing their abuse through fetish, or someone with deep phobia using fanfiction or similar media to give themselves exposure therapy, there needs to be a space to be gross, perverted, unhinged, demented, and generally fucked up.

Problematic art and writing exist for a reason, and it used to be there were specific spaces where people with problematic interests could be problematic in a separate space with other problematic people. Humans are also generally pretty messed up as a whole and need space to express and process.

If an abuse survivor cannot safely filter abuse due to people refusing to tag their shit, there's bigger problems going on than one artist doing or saying something vaguely problematic. Tagging and filtering can and should be widely used so people can protect themselves.

Maybe I'm too fandom old, but DLDR and Kink Tomato exist for a reason as does tagging and blacklisting, and the new fandom generation ignoring and dismissing the usage of such things HURTS EVERYONE.

When an artist specifically puts their work in a specific space for a specific audience, BEHIND A PAYWALL, and someone violates terms to post that art elsewhere without context, and then the fandom around that artist starts losing their shit, it is NOT THE ARTIST'S FAULT.
