You’ll notice that republicans had no problem fleeing DC to avoid voting on the Epstein files to protect the convicted felon in the White House but are now threatening Texas Democrats for fleeing the state to stall them from corruptly gerrymandering the state. Evil scumbags.

The problem is that the GOP leadership is so far right that everything else looks radical. It is no longer in their interest to do a McCain "nice people, I just disagree." They can only survive on making reasonable Republicans think that a Dem vote or opinion is even worse than they are.

On July 5, as floodwaters were starting to recede, FEMA received 3,027 calls from disaster survivors and answered 3,018, or roughly 99.7 percent, the documents show. Contractors with four call center companies answered the vast majority of the calls.

That evening, however, Ms. Noem did not renew the contracts with the four companies and hundreds of contractors were fired, according to the documents and the person briefed on the matter.

The next day, July 6, FEMA received 2,363 calls and answered 846, or roughly 35.8 percent, according to the documents. And on Monday, July 7, the agency fielded 16,419 calls and answered 2,613, or around 15.9 percent, the documents sho

When you are Stephen King or Steve Martin, you may be able to use the ban as a platform to sell books. When you are a teen or children's author who depends on paid author visits, the speaker fees dry up. You are also losing a literary work and topic from a curated, free access collection.

How does the legislature renege on its agreement (the Fair School Funding Plan), which was instituted because its underfunding violated the Ohio constitution??

Thousands attend Cleveland 'No Kings' protest, joining anti-Trump rallies across US Protests took place across Northeast Ohio Saturday, from Cleveland to Akron to Youngstown, opposing U.S. President Donald Trump's agenda and his military parade in Washington D.C.

Awesome! A good paragraph on the Chagrin Falls one by Ohiostream. Like Right to Read Ohio on Facebook, too!

Many of them are. You can see them at protests and marches. You can see them interning for Democrats or assisting at speeches. You can see them making art, music, and poetry. Look for them everywhere.

Tell your Ohio legislators: stop attacking libraries, schools, and the LGBTQ+ community! Fund libraries above 2001 levels and adopt the Governor's plan. Stop trying to hide library books from their readers, which is illegal.

Tell your state senator that #Ohio's SAVE Act (SB 153 / HB233) is unAmerican and unacceptable

This is what happens when there is a medical void. Some grifter is happy to fill it with feel-good nonsense and will then take your money. No one goes to a "medical intuitive" for a knife wound or a broken leg. (Also pertains to financial or personal voids, as we've all seen.)

OPPONENT TESTIMONY NEEDED

#Ohio's SAVE Act might be the most dangerous bill I've seen from this legislature

It would stop tens of thousands of eligible Ohioans from voting

It must be stopped.

Reason number 274 as to why generative AI is not ready. (Reason #1 is that bad information can kill people.)

Somebody's getting fired over this one. My vote is on whoever used AI to do the layout in the first place, then (oopsie!) forgot to fill it in with facts.

Toni Morrison, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature, is "closest to a classic?" A few more: To Kill a Mockingbird, Slaughterhouse-Five, Anne Frank's Diary, Catcher in the Rye, Forever by Judy Blume, Maus. All arguably 20th century classics in their genres, all challenged frequently.

Committee hearing. The book sequestration mandate is embedded in the budget on p.2274. 🫀 It has already passed the House, so on to the Senate Ed Committee.

Similar mandate hidden in Ohio's budget (!), p.2274, "place material related to sexual orientation or gender identity or expression in a portion of the public library that is not primarily open to the view of persons under the age of eighteen." We testify against it on Monday. Wish us luck.

Texas and Florida have experienced most of the book bans in the country. Texans pushed back where it counts: the ballot box. MAGA legislators, take note.

Sure, I'll "do my own research," because I can tell the difference between snakeoil that gets a lot of views and actual science. (Checks research...) Yes, the vaccines are TONS safer than the diseases they prevent. Vaccinate your kids!
