I have been bringing a white rose with me, putting it on stage and before the end of my shows explaining who and what the White Rose Society was in Munich Germany in 1944.

So far this has been good and powerful but also stressful as I know I'm going to get a bottle thrown at me one of these days.

Question for my creative friends - is the general state of the world make you burned out on performing before you even start?

I cracked a rib about 15 years ago playing hockey. Didn’t require any surgery or anything. The Dr asked when it happened. I told him 2 weeks ago. He said “don’t play hockey for 6 weeks.” I said “6 weeks?” He said “ok at least 4 weeks with the previous 2 not counting.”

Some days it still hurts.

I don’t get jealous of other musicians fame or success but I have found myself jealous of the band First Aid Kit because they have been raising families and still working as musicians and I know that it’s only possible because they live in a country with universal healthcare who cares about the arts

There is so much absolute beauty in the world; music, art, nature, people - that it is such a theft of our talents, time and energy that we have to spend our days fighting the fucking Nazis that have taken over our government.

It is a crime against humanity it the fullest sense of that statement.

I don’t know about you but I am feeling really strange.

The USA hasn’t always been the “good guy” in history but we always put up the front of being the good guys - it was part of our brand.

We had ideals that we didn’t live up to but the current Admin is like “yeah, these were never our ideals.”

I like having something like this to hope for.
