I love a show about making a show.
“Waiting for Guffman,” “Birdman”, “Moulin Rouge,” “Theater Camp,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Bullets Over Broadway (I know),” “Noises Off,” “The Producers.”

He’s wearing orange earrings today and I was like, “Adam, I like your earrings. They kinda look like THAT BOTTLE OF HOT SAUCE YOU PROMISED ME.” And he was like, “Stand right there.” And he went to the back and retrieved it. Damn. He got me.

Peach hot sauce. Excellent on tacos and tofu.

I’m not saying that I’m beloved at my local coffee shop…buuut the barista just gifted me a bottle of his homemade peach hot sauce, made with peppers he grew in his own garden.

My therapist and I have sort of developed a pattern where every time we reach the last five minutes of our session, it turns into “What Are You Watching?” where we discuss the films and shows we’re currently excited about. It’s my favorite part of therapy.

This was a good weekend to read Werner Herzog’s “The Future of Truth.”

If you watch the new Mel Brooks documentary on HBO, prepare for your heart to break the first time Rob Reiner appears. Such a loss.

It was a good year for movies. I’m a little disappointed that there was no love for “Rental Family.” It could have easily fit in the spot made for “F1,” which was cool looking, but basically a standard sports film.

Audible named Stag Dance as one of the BEST AUDIOBOOKS OF THE YEAR (so far), and while I feel mixed on these lists--I really want to highlight the four voice actors Lee Osorio, Briggon Snow, Eileen Noonan, and Pyrrha Nicole, who brought PERFORMANCES to what could have been just a reading.

Stag Dance by Torrey Peters.

If you are a fan of queer and trans short stories, you may like “Stag Dance” by Torrey Peters. The title story is about a group of pirate lumberjacks who decide to throw a cotillion where some of the jacks choose to attend as women. Great writing!
