We recently conducted a week-long training for our 3D-Printed Automatic Weather Stations (3D-PAWS) at the Red Lake Nation College. We trained staff to fabricate two 3D-PAWS systems for educational and research studies on the Red Lake Tribal Lands. We're excited for this partnership!

In 2024, U of Idaho got a 6-year NSF grant to study how drought & wildfire affect western forests. EMBER unites scientists incl. CGD’s Will Wieder. He joined the EMBER Boot Camp in May to explore forest recovery. 🌲🔥🌎 lnkd.in/gyMBWevw #ForestResilience #WildfireScience

To determine how much the gusts have weakened, the research team put on their detective hats, analyzing measurements from different wind instruments that have been moved and replaced over the years.
