Gamedev on Warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft, Fear Effect, Nightcaster, Auto Assault, Rift, Destiny 2, and more. I post stupid sh-- stuff, often about stupid sh-- stuff. Opinions are mine alone.

See, look, U.S.A., it's this easy
(and should have been done immediately upon the knowledge that these cheats and grifters were STEALING our work)
That's Ryan Seabury and Scott Brown, the creative head and studio head at the time I worked on Auto Assault. I wasn't being vague on purpose, just saving characters. :)
15.11.2025 17:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There are too many to name them all, but, let me name a pair: Ryan and Scott, who were part of the folks who ran NetDevil.
Our time together was complicated, but I kept coming back because the games they saw were the games I wanted made and they wanted to make them the right way.
As a guy who's been forced to work with LLMs for a little bit now, I can safely say: Nothing is more infuriating than trying to troubleshoot a technical problem with an LLM...
...so of course "replace tech support" is the first thing corpos did.
KIRO 7 ran an article and two TV pieces on the theft of a box truck full of arcade PCBs, artwork, and machines from my workplace yesterday. If anyone in the Seattle area sees someone offloading a ton of CPS2/NAOMI/Neo Geo PCBs, stuff of that nature, please reach out.

This, I say as a long-time student of history and economics who holds an MBA, is correct:

You want to know why they're expensive? Landlords. Plain and simple. Houses are income streams, instead of, you know, HOUSES.
Triple-O gaming.

Democrats need to be very careful about claiming to be able to influence βaffordabilityβ. Hard to do. Many facets of the economy are outside the governmentβs control.
Simple things that are easy to do and easy to explain:
1. Increase the minimum wage
2. UBI
3. Properly fund ACA
4. Fix the tax law

(Not saying I know, just saying that if a studio wanted to lay off a bunch of people who were about to unionize, they'd need a pretext... and boy, does this sound like one.)
Maybe it's worth reminding the "They shut down the government, not the regime" crowd that what really happened is the party in power demanded we choose between providing health care for the infirm or food for the famished.
Does that sound like a thing the good guys do?
A few months ago Jeff Bezos expressed interest in buying Conde Nast, the parent company of Teen Vogue.
Teen Vogue has been a leader in political coverage and critical of the current regime.
I hope the elimination of their political coverage isnβt designed to woo Bezosβ¦
