Yesterday, a man at the barbershop proclaimed, "Illinois is communist state." Moments prior, he sucked down whisky while the barber prepared his chair. Told lavish tales of partying in the marines, retiring early for his doctor wife. Belittled poor friends. He looked so small on his high horse.

It took seeing adult bullies to understand that my childhood bullies didn’t even really want to hurt me, they just wanted to feel powerful and how I felt about it wasn’t even in the equation.

I can’t imagine someone not outgrowing that, but apparently it happens quite a lot!

We just received word that the DOJ has begun removing data detailing criminal charges and convictions related to Trump loyalists. This started with records from the January 6th insurrection, but additional records are now being erased. We will keep you updated once we have more info.

Day by day, headlines read more and like nightmare fuel. I've been hiding for years now. So numb and overwhelmed I don't share any real part of myself anymore. But I'm thinking I might start a Substack, share some writing, start writing again. Queer voices are needed. We can't let them erase us.
