Kennedy and Trump Paint Bleak Picture of U.S. Children as ‘Sickest Generation’

Trump and RFK Jr. say today's kids are "the sickest generation in American history." Is that just a feeling? Here are some facts:
About 46% of children born in the U.S. in 1800 did not live to see their 5th birthday. In 1900, the figure was 24%. Now it's under 1%.

And what I want Black creators to remember, and Palestinian creators to remember, and trans creators to remember, is that you were chosen because they finally looked. And when they looked at your work, they saw what they had been missing.

Something GOOD.

I haven't heard of her before this. That she's pub'd by Fantagraphics is likely why. It's telling to me that they continue to accumulate stats for investing in cartoonists who eventually show themselves like this.

YES, PLEASE, especially if it also uplifted ERASURE by Percival Everett.

Not to mention that the comic feels like a racist co-opt of Everett's work.

And for folx to understand the historic undertones of the harm of her comic and her double-down, I highly rec Ruby Hamad's book.
