I just circulated this to faculty in my Department and encourage you all to do likewise
"Dear Colleagues
NIH has issued a Request for Information on Maximizing Research Funds by Limiting Allowable Publishing Costs, and is looking for feedback. Please consider responding.
On a quick glance I thought it was the Iris in an eye

How do cells sense electric fields? How quickly can they respond? We show, in a collaboration with Nathan Belliveau and Julie Theriot, that this is limited by the physics of how proteins diffuse. Here's the

Do you use human primary cells in vitro for your studies? Human tissues? Ever wondered how well the cells in vitro map to in vivo? Please check out our data here doi.org/10.1038/s415... this may have importance when studies don't translate well to pre clinical or clinical models. #glaucoma

Here, we describe a multiparametric approach to grade disease severity using histology in the absence of longitudinal clinical history.
06.01.2025 18:15 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Do you work with human donor eye tissues to study glaucoma? Or, rely on histology of human tissues to understand molecular underpinnings of ocular diseases? Check out our latest paper actaneurocomms.biomedcentral.com/articles/10....

04.12.2024 19:10 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Why the actual F would alumni pledge to such institutions if it's not for students, faculty or native, I fail to understand. It's a predatory business at best
02.12.2024 00:23 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0And where exactly are the supposed to haul their belongings to for the holidays? Universities are no longer for 'education'. The obscene amount of endowments need to be used to stripped away. It's not used for fees, faculty/grad student/postdoc salary/stipend, or lab infrastructure or scholarships.
