06.08.2025 22:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If I knew you were going to repost this, I would have done a better proofread haha. Let's just say I was riding on pure emotion and my grammar couldn't keep up. β₯οΈ
06.08.2025 22:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I read The Rising in high school, and it turned me into a monster. Thank you for that. Ordered π§ββοΈβ₯οΈ
06.08.2025 18:05 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0What's punk about laziness? What's punk about unoriginality? You know what's punk? Writing before the sun comes up, staying up later than you should to write, writing during your day job and giving fuck all about it. That's punk. The grind. The pain. Punk isn't easy or mindless - its blood.
06.08.2025 18:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wish I could just dream in that world every night. It haunts me often. I recently read The Book of the Most Precious Substance by Sara Gran - so damn good. I was in love with Cuckoo, so I am shaking with anticipation to read Black Flame.
06.08.2025 17:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I just bought it today and so excited to read it. Books about haunted media are my favorite niche. (Haven't read yours yet but) Experimental Film is my favorite. What is you favorite book featuring haunted media?
06.08.2025 17:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Oh, I love books about haunted media. Just bought Black Flame! Thank you.
06.08.2025 17:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0At Dark I Become Loathsome devastated me, but I feel pulled back into your world. Its like a bruise I can't stop poking. I wake up and think of the casket. It haunts me. I want to be haunted some more.
06.08.2025 17:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Holy hell, Daniel. This book is a monster (in a good way). Like, I expect it to be read in 100 years. Transgressive and formally inventive. I am a slow, but constant, reader, and I read this in a day. Then the next day I missed - so I started again. If felt like the best kind of dream.
06.08.2025 17:28 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0I'm so excited for this, Eric. Everything about it - the description, the comps, the trailer - is a vibe that aches. I need Burnt Sparrow!
06.08.2025 16:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I am an old hand at taking rejections with stride, but eventually, after years, it starts to feel personal. Complaining about rejections is faux pas, but goddamn they're defeating. I got seven this week, some after months and one after being shortlisted. It feels like throwing darts into a pit.
06.08.2025 16:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0At the Telluride Film Festival in 2009, I sat on the lawn and ate steak sandwiches and ice cream sundaes with Geoffrey Rush. He was wonderful. We talked about movies and travelling for too much of the panel we should've been watching.
22.07.2025 22:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you so much, @nomad-sw18.bsky.social. I have been submitting for a long time and writing for a lot longer, and this is a sorely needed dose of recognition. And from a great publication. I'm told too often that my writing isn't for everyone, but this one is at least for someone.
17.07.2025 17:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ghost Eaters was so damn good, man. You have amazing sense of space in your work, and that novel showcases it. Also, it is scary as all get out. This novel is a director's dream, and Derrickson is going to bask in it. So excited.
16.07.2025 18:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"From Clay, God" is a nasty little monster of a story that snuck onto the #shortlist at @fracturedlit.bsky.social Gods & Monsters contest. I have collected over 30 rejections so far in 2025, and this is a wonderful wink of recognition I sorely needed.

A shot of light in the dark: my flash story "From God, Clay" was longlisted for @fracturedlit.bsky.social Gods & Monsters Challenge.
This story is about grief, creation, and parenthood. I'm so honored. Let's keep making monsters.

03.07.2025 19:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I donβt think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make whatβs happening now look like childβs play. And people are disappearing.
Time travel is a subgenre I struggle to dig into, but THIS - this book is f'ing magic. Weird and emotionally resonant. This is a killer book, brother. I loved it.
03.07.2025 19:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't know what I expected from this adaptation, but this was not it. And now I know why I'm a dumbshit - this looks brilliant.
02.07.2025 19:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I accept your challenge. Now, where I find enough eyes?
02.07.2025 19:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You have just contributed to the weirdest day of synchronicity I have experienced. Great image btw.
02.07.2025 18:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Pre-ordered a few of these not realizing they're all coming out the same day! What will I read first? Woof... I have some decisions to make.
02.07.2025 18:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I use a Random # Generator to help tackle my Letterboxd Watchlist. I watched The Medusa Touch 1978 & it was everything I want. An unwilling God. Psychic noir. Rage made manifest. A horrifying punchline. It felt weirdly timeless too, and Richard Burton plays cruel so well. #cultcinema #forgottenfilms
