Ooh, better than the 2019 team? One win away from an invincible centurian league win/European cup double, average 98 points over 2 seasons…the 22 team was great, particularly fond memory of smoking City at Wembley, but 2019 felt different gravy.

Yeah, he's definitely over-romanticised by some but don't think that'll bother FSG they'll just do what they think is right. He looks like a really good manager and that he'd fit in with FSG's preferred way to operate.

Not having a go, but that's King Kenny who put together one of the best sides in history, with 4 league titles and 4 manager of the year awards under his belt. I grew up with Gerrard, legend, but as a manager completely different kettle of fish.

That season was a freak with the injuries we had. Think we were still top at Xmas? such a shame because that team was still a beast.

I'm 41, seen a lot of LFC players come and go. The thought of Robbo leaving makes me really sad, I know we still have Virg and Mo (and Joe!) but feels end of an era 😞 And what a player and character he's been! ❤️

I'm no tactico, but I just assumed we'd have this from the start with buying Frimpong and Kerkez?! Seemed like obvious players to have bomb on/keep wide and have a compact midfield.

Maybe 'tenure' is the wrong word, but might want to re-check that! It's 1.64ppg this season, was 2.2ppg last season - combined it's 2ppg. I think Hodgson was 1.25ppg and he never had us on pace for CL spot like we currently are.

Same. If RM could wait a bit longer until Slot's future is clear that would be greatly appreciated.

Fair enough. Looks like we don't intend to play him there though and assumed that was part of the chat with Slot that made him want to play at LFC.

I suppose if Wirtz fulfils his potential and Isak comes into form it probably turns out to be the right thing, time will tell. Sad how it's playing out though. Feels like when the Bulls moved on when the players thought they had another title in them, at least our rebuild will be better than that!

Wirtz can only play 10 I think, so this only works with Salah as one of 2 CFs?? Is that the answer? Or is the answer that LFC have decided to move on tactically to a place Salah doesn't fit? Bit of a gamble...

Potentially they've made the decision to move on tactically, we're not winning the league so move on from a team built around Mo to Wirtz/Isak/Ekitike. Bizarre because last season he was immense and I'm sure he has a lot left.

I reckon banning him for a game makes sense - you can't speak like that. But don't you also say 'of course I want Mo to be in the team, he scored 29 goals last year, he's a weapon and one of the greatest LFC players ever.' Unless you don't want Mo in the team.... it's all strange and I don't like it
