Iโ€™m not judging the other reporters there! I donโ€™t know what I would do in that situation and neither do you. Iโ€™m just surprised because it seems like the most natural response to such a nasty comment. I think I might say โ€œwhoaโ€ but less because of some bravery and more that Iโ€™ve got no poker face.

Iโ€™ve been thinking and itโ€™s kind of exceptional that not a single person said โ€œHey nowโ€ after the piggy comment.

Iโ€™m also struck how many important MAHA people are folks who tripped on shrooms for the first time as adults and think theyโ€™ve discovered something.

Over the next several years, Angermayer assembled a team of like-minded entrepreneurs (including Silicon Valley billionaire, Peter Thiel) to invest in a handful of startups aimed at developing psychedelics for medicinal purposes. In 2018 Angermayer started his own firm, the German-headquartered ATAI Life Sciences, which he took public in 2021 on the Nasdaq. โ€œThe fact that psychedelics have been criminalized and shunned over the last fifty years is crazy, Angermayer has said, โ€œbecause they have long had a place in human history.โ€ They work on areas of the brain where pain and trauma are stored, shutting down the ego and allowing an inner voice to emerge and begin working on dissolving past trauma.

First, some background on Angermayer and his wide range of interests. Now 47, heโ€™s originally from rural Germany and today resides in a London penthouse. His visitors are greeted at the door by a large skull of a triceratops, whose skeleton he unearthed during his work with paleontologists. Inside the apartment are ancient artifacts including a bronze statue of the Egyptian god Osiris and a large stone statue of the Greek goddess Demeter. Both deities had disciples involved with hallucinogenic rituals around psychedelics, Angermayerโ€™s research has revealed.

Angermayer made his fortune as a shrewd investor in biotechnologies. His initial company, Ribopharma, pursued ways to deactivate problematic genes and, after a merger with an American company in 2003, made him a billionaire. His Apeiron Investment Group went on to pour capital into a range of start-ups, including life-extending treatments and brain implants for people with paralysis.

Last weekโ€™s MAHA Summit in Washington brought a full day of fascinating panels, on subjects ranging from โ€œfood as medicineโ€ to breakthroughs in biotechnology. Perhaps the most thought-provoking of all was a discussion between German billionaire entrepreneur Christian Angermayer and Matt Zorn, deputy general counsel for Health and Human Services (HHS). Their panel, titled โ€œPsychedelic Medicine: The Next Frontier in Mental Health,โ€ centered around what both men described as a coming new era of mental health care that will use a class of psychoactive substances, known as psychedelics or hallucinogens, to treat depression and other conditions.

Trump die-hards and fellow travelers are using a โ€˜Jedi mind trickโ€™ on themselves The real โ€œTrump derangement syndromeโ€ is looking at the Epstein emails, Trump's graft and U.S. warships in the Caribbean and saying, โ€œThereโ€™s nothing there.โ€

President Donald Trumpโ€™s reflexive defenders lazily rely on the phrase โ€œTrump derangement syndromeโ€ (TDS) as both a schoolyard taunt and a blanket pardon for any fact-based criticism of the president. But the level of mass denial many of them exhibited this week is actually deranged.

In the larger construct, disinformation really is a dirty word. People donโ€™t want to talk about it. Other news organizations want to pretend like it doesnโ€™t exist anymore. But not only does it exist, itโ€™s worse than ever. Tech companies have capitulated, and so have news organizations.

The conspiracy crowdโ€™s reaction to the Epstein emails? Yawn. Far-right conspiracy theorists and influencers are a big reason the Epstein scandal hasnโ€™t died. But the newly released emails about Trump havenโ€™t impressed them.

I swear to God if Jeffrey Epstein had described Hillary Clinton as "that dog that hasn't barked," in secret emails these people would be making rabid content for days and calling for tribunals but ok www.msnbc.com/msnbc/news/e...

Sometimes, after a lengthy news event that led to a long list of individual stories exploring all kinds of facets and angles, a single, 3,500-word write-up of the entire affair is incredibly helpful.

Hey thanks so much. I'm so aware how lucky I have it to be able to watch quietly until we decide to publish -- a luxury for sure. But I would love to see more local and beat journos ring the bell with a long read after the story is done, too.

Does Cheryl Hines share husband RFK Jr.โ€™s vaccine views? Now we know the answer. The actress finally steps out as first lady of the anti-vaccine movement.

Cheryl Hinesโ€”who has mostly steered clear of RFKโ€™s antivaxx worldโ€”headlined a weekend gala for Childrenโ€™s Health Defense. At the private party, which I watched from the back of the room, she praised CHD and hawked her bookโ€” proceeds which were promised to CHD. www.msnbc.com/news/news-an...

Online and in real life, the ostriches had become symbols of defiance and the farm a destination for conspiracists, fringe media, and animal lovers.
