If you enjoy cooking at all I say hit up his mom and aunties for some family recipes and/or cooking tutorials of local foods. “The way to a man’s heart” and all that.

Gimme a min I’m new here. This year is 50. Pretty sure I peaked early. Chronically kaput. Lego. Crochet a bit. Lots of plants. Sew a bit. Read a bit. I mom and wife and try to advocate.

Being alert is great but “our people of color” have had more than just “their wits” about them since the day their parents had the police talk with them as kids. Don’t shift blame here.

My fishbone cactus bloomed for the first time! The bud it sprang from was very funky looking but I didn’t get a picture of that stage.

Sitting here breathing in the trees and mid morning sun. A squirrel is on a branch several meters away just absolutely going OFF. I feel you, squirrel. I see you, hear you and feel you.

A dear friend gave me this cute lil hanging pot fella. Prob wouldn’t be great for a live plant so I’m crocheting one of yarn instead. Need to add a few more on top, I think. 🧶

These calendars are bright and cute and are full of really fun information about eels!
