Iโm surprised. I donโt even have a follow-up questionโฆ how could no one come up and say something. Tateishi: โฆ Mo: Now that you know how big Mega Man 2 is outside of Japan, do you look fondly back at the soundtrack? Tateishi: Yeah, my thoughts have changed since I met you and became more aware of how people felt. But even when I was at Konami, I didnโt even bother telling anyone I did Mega Man 2. So the fact you came all the way to Japan to tell me these things makes me very happy I worked on the game all those years ago.

playing hollow knight for the first time starts by feels like standing in a dimly lit room in an old haunt. and then by the end youโve turned on the lights and realise youโre standing in a cathedral. and then bam, credits, at the peak of that feeling.
11.09.2025 00:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0i think hollow knight is one of those games that reveals itself to be โโโa rare gameโโโ with more and more distance, and that synced well with the wait for silksong.

08.09.2025 23:47 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This convo I had highlights the difference in what "respect your time" means in games.
A lot of players want to trade time for in-game progress. It's purely transactional: 1 hour = 1 progress
But I want to feel like my actions matter i.e. what I do with time creates progress, not time itself.
there are hundreds of unity engineers who are uncredited here, and many of them have contributions that were likely more profound than 90% of the people actually listed.
is it /useful/ to describe silksong as having been made by hundreds of people?
i think the impulse here is noble, but tbh the longer i spend in games, the more honest the core sentiment of โit was made by like three peopleโ becomes. there are artists and plumbers โ sometimes youโre a plumber. thereโs no shame in that.
