When we first posted this note it was quite contrarian, a little controversial, and very counterintuitive, but it seems to be playing out exactly.

Has Wayne Gretzky said anything about Donald Trumpโs position on Ukraine yet?

We're beyond picking and choosing whom to defend. It's time to stand up and speak out.

The impression of Trumpโs power remains; the fact that he keeps stepping on rakes is missed. The projection of strength obscures the reality of weakness. Donโt believe him."

Trump has signed his tariffs.
The final slide from my undergraduate political economy course.
The N.A. auto industry supply and assembly chain is entirely regional and cross-border.It would take years and cost OEMs many billions to reorient this to a different (and more expensive) model. This is one of the reasons why this nonsense probably ends soon. Mass US auto worker layoffs otherwise.

31.01.2025 02:35 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0To put the OMB grant freeze in context, roughly 17.5% of Wisconsinโs revenue comes from federal grants in aid last I checked. Overall, federal grants account for roughly 36% of all state government budgets in US. In a number of states the federal share is even higher.

Itโs possible that a hot IPO market could help salvage disastrous returns for those funds, offloading losses to the public. But are there enough greater fools?
